This class will probably be a little different to other English you have taken. This class is all about "communication" and "learning by yourself".

 

You are NOT going to study grammar, or memorise long lists of new words for tests. You are going to learn about something, and you are going to tell people about it, in English.

In other words, you are going to USE the English language to COMMUNICATE about something. You will communicate through writing, video and audio, and your work will be posted right here on this page.

The aim of this class is to help students develop their overall English language skills by using them to engage with the real world around them. Students will participate in meaningful active learning tasks to help improve written and spoken skills in English.

Additionally, students will develop 21st century skills by applying what they learn to digital and online environments.

授業の概要
Through hands-on experience of dealing with their community, using technology and English, students will learn more about their own community and how to communicate about it to others through a variety of written and audio-visual media.

授業外学習（予習・復習）
Students will set goals (a schedule of work) for themselves and then be expected to do what is needed to achieve those through preparation prior to classes and following up on incomplete assignments after classes, as well as complete periodic homework assignments periodically.

原則として、授業を英語で実施する。

最初の授業に詳細説明するが、参加型の授業であるので、基本的に欠席は認めないが、出席だけで単位を取得できない。
